You can attain a membership at men's or womens fitness centers only. It's understandable to want to avoid the opposite sex while working out. We all know that hard bodies can be a tad distracting. Not to mention you may feel embarrassed if the opposite gender sees you all sweaty and yucky. Okay, well the females might feel embarrassed. Most of us guys don't really care.
I was chatting with my wife the other day about exercise. She has been attending the YMCA for about a year now. She loves the fact that ours is the largest one in the country. On the other hand, she would like to exercise where men were not around. You know, womens fitness centers. She claims that having the opposite sex there too can be bothersome. Aside from the fact that folks are supposedly there to work out, many go to socially connect. In short, they treat the place like a pick-up joint. I know what you're thinking. This is lame with a capital L. Then again it's no different from the Gold's Gym I used to attend. People would treat this place like a matchmaking joint as well. As I'm sure you can imagine, this gets distracting and irksome. How is anyone supposed to get a decent workout in? Hey, this is why God created womens fitness centers and men's fitness centers. This allows each gender to enjoy their own workout environment, minus he stresses of flirting and chatting.
